CANDLE CARE

  • The first burn is the most important!

As a general rule, burn your candle for one hour per inch in diameter of its size. Our single wick 220gms Candles should be burned for three to four hours at a time (not longer than 5 hours please) to allow the melt pool to reach all edges of the candle.

Ideally, you would do this on all subsequent burns to avoid the ‘tunnel’ effect running down the centre of your candle.

  • Don’t burn your candle for longer than 4-5 hours at a time. This could cause the glass to get hot, as well, leaving the candle to burn once it’s reached the bottom.

When you’re ready to put your candle out, be sure to extinguish it with a snuffer or carefully dip the wick in the wax. Leave plenty of time for the smoke to clear before carefully covering it with a lid.

Covering your candle too soon might affect the candle's scent.

  • Remove the tip of the wick in between each burn.

Sometimes a small flowering or mushroom shape might appear, this is completely normal. Due to the natural nature of our candles, we advise that you gently remove the small petals that may have formed, ensuring that the wick is no longer than 5mm.

  • If you are experiencing smoke from the wick, it is most likely due to not trimming. The wicks may give a small amount of smoke when first lit however once they achieve ample heating they will burn without smoke. If smoke persists it is most likely a wick that needs trimming or a draft that is not allowing ample heat to generate.

  • Please store your candle away from sunlight and when possible with a lid on. Condensation on the surface of your candle, air bubbles and changing consistency are signs that your candle has been stored incorrectly or for too long. Wipe the surface before burning, if you’ve noticed any condensation or dust. And, after storage, you should let your candle sit at room temperature before lighting.

    • If your Scented Candle has suffered from memory rings, there’s a simple way to fix it using a cupboard essential – tin foil! Carefully wrap the foil around the edge of the candle vessel, creating a frame. Leave a hole in the middle for the wick, and then light and burn your candle as normal, for the recommended burn time. Et voila! A perfectly even candle.

    • Treat yourself to a wick trimmer, it makes the above process much easier and mess-free.

    • Avoid placing your candle in a draughty area whilst lit. A common mistake is windowsills and open windows. This will cause the flame to consume the wax at a faster rate, meaning your candle won’t burn for as long as intended.

    • Re-use your candle glass! Place the glass in the fridge for 1 hour; the cold causes the wax to expand so that any leftovers will pop out easily from the jar. Give it a soapy rinse and it’s ready to be re-used for plants, pens, makeup brushes and much more.

FAUX FUR FAQs

  • YES! We buy our faux furs in Europe from the best in the industry. We use the same manufacturers as very prestigious fashion houses. All furs are premium quality, knitted in a variety of pile heights and colours, using only high-quality raw materials and advanced techniques.

All blankets are hand-sewn in Europe.

  • We recommend dry cleaning as a priority for our furs.

For small spot areas use a microfiber cloth with a bit of warm water (it makes miracles!). However, if you wish to use your washing machine, you can wash at a temperature of 30°C, without ever using fabric softener (contrary to what one might think, these products damage the furs). After washing, we advise you to hang the fabric out to dry (never use a tumble dryer). Then, you can brush the fur to give it back its full fluff.

  • We invite you to store your faux fur items in a cupboard that is not exposed to light in the dust bag that we provide. Keep them away from any source of heat, do not iron them and do not use steam (you can lightly steam the back fabric but don't overdo it). Keep away from insecticides, moth repellents and other chemicals, including perfumes, lacquers and makeup. Do not seal it in a plastic bag, like real fur, faux fur needs to breathe.

  • Absolutely, we would be delighted to create a bespoke item for you. You can select your faux fur and back fabric and even personalize it with your initials if you want. For more information please get in touch!

  • Yes, all our faux fur fabrics comply with the REACH standard. REACH is a European regulation (regulation n°1907/2006) which came into force in 2007 to secure the manufacture and use of chemical substances in European industry. The aim is to identify, evaluate and control the chemical substances manufactured, imported and placed on the European market.

  • Fake fur has, like all animal fur, a dominant hair direction. Unless specifically mentioned, all our faux fur fabrics have a hair direction oriented in the lengthwise direction of Blanket.

  • Our faux fur blankets are all made on a knitted frame. It does not require overcasting and does not fray. The frame is of a colour generally identical to the fur. Our fabrics are composed of blends of polyester, acrylic and modacrylic in varying percentages.
